OUR RESEARCH PROCESS
At PPHEquity, research is centered on understanding the barriers that contribute to maternal health complications and disparities, particularly postpartum hemorrhage (PPH). Through the PERT (Postpartum Equity Response Tool) framework, we aim to explore how communication gaps, delayed recognition of symptoms, social determinants of health (SDOH), health literacy, and access to care can impact maternal outcomes.
Our research approach focuses on:
• Identifying gaps in maternal health education and awareness
• Examining barriers that contribute to delays in care
• Supporting evidence-based and culturally responsive interventions
• Promoting patient education and early recognition of warning signs
• Advancing equitable maternal healthcare for underserved populations
At PPHEquity, we believe research should not only generate knowledge, but also support meaningful change for mothers, families, and communities through awareness, advocacy, and education.
“Research helps us identify the gaps. Advocacy and education help us close them.”
